Job Summary

The Care Manager/Staff Therapist will provide a range of mental health services including individual, couples, and group therapy, as well as on-call crisis intervention. The primary focus of a Care Manager is to provide significant clinical service to address the needs of students in crisis including crisis intervention, case management, and referral support. Responsible for identifying and coordinating all available and relevant University and community resources during these times of crisis. This position will conduct initial diagnostic clinical interviews and prescribe further diagnostic procedures or treatment programs. Maintain complete, accurate and timely records of all clinical work and any other necessary documentation. Provide outreach and consultation to the campus community and act as an expert regarding community resources. The Care Management Team (CMT) offers a cohesive team that works collaboratively and effectively in supporting student success. This team meets weekly with the Clinical Director and values teamwork and consultation in providing high quality care to students.

What We Are Looking For

 

Education and Experience:
Required:

  • Master’s degree in social work (preferred), clinical or counseling psychology, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling & counselor education, or related 
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience
  • Current license or immediately license eligible, must obtain license as a Health Service Provider in Psychology in the state of Indiana no later than six months after start date
  • If unlicensed, must obtain licensure within 18 months of start date for Ph.D. or Psy.D. or 30 month for LCSW, LMHC, LMFT or related. Must be licensed (eligible) in the State of Indiana
  • Practical experience in a graduate training program will be accepted
  • Must have experience providing services to a diverse client population

 

Preferred: 

  • Experience providing case management as well as general mental health services to late adolescents and young adults 
  • Experience with the college (late adolescent/early adult) population

 

Skills:

Required:                

  • Provision of group and individual therapy and clinical supervision.  
  • Ability to develop and teach seminars related to the provision of these skills.  
  • Ability to identify and coordinate resources to facilitate and assure a seamless a transition of support for clients in crisis
  • Must be licensed or license eligible in the appropriate field in the State of Indiana 
  • Strong crisis therapy and/or crisis intervention skills
  • Ability to evaluate and diagnose clients, make decisions about the urgency of clients' problems, and design and implement appropriate therapy treatment interventions foundational
  • Skills and interest in outreach and consultation
  • Confidentiality and adherence to ethical practices
  • Independent judgment and discretion
  • Values around social justice and interest in multicultural counseling
  • Must relate well to students, staff, faculty and other members of the University community
