Job Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is an essential member of the Student Health Center team at Purdue University, dedicated to delivering outstanding patient care and enhancing the campus health experience. In this hands-on role, you will provide direct patient services under the guidance of licensed healthcare professionals, assist with clinical procedures, collect and document vital signs, prepare patients for visits, and perform basic point-of-care testing—ensuring each student receives high-quality, compassionate care in accordance with Health Center policies.

 

As a CMA, you will maintain accurate medical records, support wellness and preventive care programs, and contribute to ongoing quality improvement efforts through active participation in staff meetings and initiatives. Your attention to confidentiality and patient well-being will be central to your impact.

What We Are Looking For

Education and Experience:

 

Required:

  • Vocational or Technical Certification from an approved Medical Assistant program
  • One (1) year of related experience with general medical office practices and procedures 

 

Skills:

 

Required:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of scientific principles of aseptic technique and general clinical practice
  • Basic knowledge of medical language
  • BLS certification
  • Computer and data entry skills
