Job Summary
Under the supervision of the RN Coordinator and the direction of daily assigned clinician, the Medical Assistant assists provider and nursing staff with implementation of patient care, following nursing and Clinic policies and procedures.
This position is primarily located in Delphi, Indiana. Occasional travel to Burlington, Delphi, or Wolcott may be required as coverage needs demand.
In this role you will:
- Room patients, monitor and chart vital signs and historical data.
- Handle specimens.
- Complete requisitions, forms and reports.
- Participate in clinical huddles, staff meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

The North Central Nursing Clinics at Purdue University are nurse-managed, community-based clinics dedicated to delivering high-quality, accessible, and affordable primary health care across rural Indiana. As Federally Qualified Health Centers, our four clinics serve thousands of patients each year—offering medical, behavioral health, and wellness services for individuals and families of all ages. Rooted in a unique partnership with the Purdue School of Nursing, we also provide invaluable hands-on learning experiences for nursing students, helping prepare the next generation of compassionate health care professionals while advancing health and wellness in our communities.
What We’re Looking For:
Required:
Education and Experience:
- Degree or Certification from an approved Medical Assistant program.
- Verified certification to practice in the state of Indiana with a completed background check.
- Thorough knowledge of scientific principles of aseptic technique and general clinical practice.
- Basic knowledge of medical language.
- CPR Certified.
Skills Needed:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong and precise computer and data entry skills.
What is Helpful:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
