Position Description
The Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Purdue University seeks a clinical assistant professor of learning design and technology specializing in K-12 technology integration. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the goals of the program as well as supporting the continued development and deployment of its Blended and Online Teaching licensure program and technology badges. This is an academic year clinical faculty position with reappointments in 3-year contractual terms. Clinical appointments are non-tenure track but with the potential for promotion in rank. The position also includes the possibility of summer employment. This position requires an on-campus, face-to-face presence.
Responsibilities
- Teaching undergraduate teacher preparation courses in technology integration.
- Advising and consulting with other faculty members within the teacher preparation program on the use and integration of technology within their courses.
- Designing, developing, and updating digital technology badges/micro-credentials.
- Coordinating the Blended and Online Teaching licensure program within the College of Education.
- Managing the licensure accreditation processes.
- Leading and teaching courses in the LDT online master’s programs and selected face-to-face PhD and MS program courses.
- Mentoring graduate students.
- Participating in program, department, college, and university committees.
- Leading Summer online courses and related responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate in educational technology, learning design, or closely related field. If a candidate is ABD, the degree must be awarded prior to start of the appointment.
- Active record of university-level teaching and service
- Experience teaching online and face-to-face
- Two years of K-12 teaching experience, or other relevant professional experience
- Experience in design and development of educational materials as a subject matter expert, an instructional designer, or a faculty developer.
- Experience in using technology (e.g., Camtasia, Articulate) in blended and online environments
- Apple and Google Educator certification prior to the start of the appointment.

- Experience mentoring graduate students or undergraduate students
- Record of leadership experience and collaboration
- Record of service and professional involvement
- Record of scholarly work
- Current or recent K-12 teaching license
Salary
Salary and benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.
