Director, Statewide Site, Columbus

Job Summary


The Director, Statewide Columbus has leadership responsibility for campus and area programs at the assigned Polytechnic Institute Statewide Columbus site. Responsible and accountable for developing a cohesive vision, directing planning, operations, implementation of strategic initiatives, and budgetary responsibility. This position will direct and manage staff within the assigned Purdue Polytechnic Institute site and collaborates with faculty to advance enrollment growth, degree attainment, and industry engagement supporting regional growth and development. This position facilitates communications and fosters relationships with internal and external constituents including, but not limited to, the Purdue Polytechnic Institute Office of Marketing and Communications, Purdue University Government Relations, K12 and higher education partners, economic development and local government officials, local business and industry, as well as regional foundation and philanthropic leaders. As part of a larger network of campuses across Indiana, the Director works collaboratively with peer locations to ensure consistency across the organization, to share ideas, and to meet global objectives.   



  • Bachelors’ degree with a minimum 
  • 7 years of progressive experience in higher education, business administration, project management, or related field.                 
  • Must be responsive and adaptable to a fast-paced environment and fluctuating responsibilities. 
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational and time-management skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a diverse population including students, parents, faculty, staff, and corporate representatives and recruiters.
  • Must be self-motivated and have ability to exercise sound judgment in prioritizing tasks and solving problems. 
  • Ability to operate on a strategic level and be politically savvy. 
  • Knowledge of the key ‎aspects ‎of business and capacity for long ‎range planning and implementation. 
  • Ability to grasp and implement solutions to complex challenges.  ‎
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully organize and lead large complex projects and inspire a team to meet project plans and goals.  
  • Effective consulting, presentation, and ‎collaboration skills. 
  • Ability to work with people at all levels of an ‎organization and influence the decision-making process. 





  • Master’s degree
  • Management experience
  • Broad knowledge of educational environments.  
  • General knowledge of fiscal planning/budgeting and University business procedures and policies.
