What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with faculty to design software development projects, lab assignments, and engaging course materials for Computer Science programs.
  • Supervise and mentor teams of teaching assistants and student employees to support course operations and curriculum development.
  • Research emerging trends in computer science and integrate findings into curriculum goals and pedagogical strategies.
  • Assess existing curricula and recommend enhancements to foster effective, inclusive, and impactful learning experiences.

What We're Looking For

Education and Experience Needed:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, education, or related STEM field
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in education or training

 

Preferred: 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, or other computing discipline
  • Prior experience in software testing. Prior experience developing or improving educational software
  • Prior experience mentoring and/or supervising graduate and undergraduate students

 

Skills Needed:

  • Proficiency with at least one; Java, Python, or C programming languages
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, public speaking, and organizational abilities
  • A positive attitude, patience, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds
  • Experience working both independently and collaboratively within a team, with the flexibility to manage frequent interruptions

 

Preferred:  

  • General knowledge of:
    • computer science curricula, especially of programming projects at the undergraduate level
    • test-driven development
  • Working knowledge of:
    • computer science instructional laboratories and general knowledge of computer lab equipment
    • software/learning management systems used for course management (e.g., Brightspace, Gradescope, Vocareum)
