Clerk, Check-Out/Translator

Job Summary

The Clerk, Check-Out/Translator is the "first face" of the clinic to patients and community stakeholders.  They are responsible for strategically scheduling patients, maximizing staff efficiency, and maintaining high client satisfaction.  The clerk will answer phones, direct calls appropriately to nursing triage, complete patient check-out with billing reconciliation and cash collection, and serve as a translator as needed.


This position is based in the Delphi office but travel to Burlington, Delphi, and Wolcott may be required as needed.



  • High school diploma/GED
  • One (1) year of customer service and/or clerical experience
  • Basic understanding of math and cash handling processes
  • Able to speak, write, read, and understand thoroughly both Spanish and English languages
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service
  • Proficient using Word and Excel
  • A valid US or Canadian driver's license
  • Ability to lift and carry 10 to 25 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds occasionally



  • Experience with Electronic Health Record system
