Senior, Therapist (Social Worker)

Job Summary

 

The Behavioral Health Consultant, as part of the primary care team, is responsible for providing standardized counseling/talk therapy, for NCNC’s patients with mild to moderate mental health conditions and/or substance abuse in an integrated model of care. The BHC will provide behavioral health consultation to children, adolescents, adults and families in order to improve psychosocial functioning. 

 

Required:

  • Master’s Degree in Behavioral Health, Social Work, Counseling or other related field  Excellent working knowledge of behavioral medicine and evidence-based treatments for mental conditions. 
  • Ability to work through brief patient contacts as well as to make quick and accurate clinical assessments of mental and behavioral conditions.
  • Comfortable with the pace of primary care, working with an interdisciplinary team. 
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of psycho-pharmacology. 
  • This position may be stationed within one or more of our clinics, in a school or other contracted organization, or a combination of some or all.                  
  • Must demonstrate tact, patience and excellent oral and written communication skills in dealing with patients, peers and external partners.  
  • Possess effective analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Must possess the ability to cope with complex situations in a professional manner. 
  • Must respect and maintain confidentiality. 
  • Must comply with all HIPAA rules. 
  • Plans and completes job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including using appropriate judgment. 
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work appropriately. 

 

Preferred:

  • Bilingual and able to read, write and speak Spanish proficiently
