The position supports Purdue University's the Office of Admissions by coordinating, implementing, and evaluating college recruitment strategies and programs aimed at attracting prospective students from the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) region. As a key representative, this role collaborates with other Purdue Regional Representatives and campus staff to maximize outreach efforts, participate in regional organizations, and support both on-campus and local events. The ideal candidate excels at building strong connections with students, families, high school counselors, and campus partners, while demonstrating outstanding communication, critical thinking, and independent problem-solving skills. This is a remote, home office-based position requiring candidates to reside in the DMV area with prior experience working independently or remotely is essential. The role is a ten-month, full-time position with benefits and reports directly to the Associate Director of Admissions – Regional Southern California.

Provide essential administrative support to individuals, teams, departments, or programs by managing a variety of office tasks. Responsibilities include maintaining calendars, scheduling meetings and events, arranging travel, and responding to inquiries. Create agendas, flyers, and promotional materials as needed.  Support report preparation and help ensure smooth daily operations by assisting with other administrative duties as assigned.

 

This full-time, 10 month position offers a salary of $61,000.

What We are Looking For :

Education and Experience

Qualified candidates will need:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2-3 years of experience in college admissions, college recruitment, or college counseling, event and travel planning, customer service, student services, and presentation experience
  • Remote work experience and a home office space.
  • A valid driver's license 


Skills needed:

  • Ability to work independently and successfully with limited supervision.
  • Ability to think critically and use problem-solving and judgment skills to make educated, professional decisions.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to engage with various constituent groups of students and families.
  •  Comfortability speaking to audiences of all sizes, both in-person and virtually.
  •  Event planning


What is helpful:

  • History working in higher education and a regional admissions network
  • Bilingual
  • Experience in event planning
  • Passion for working with wide-ranging populations of students 
  •  Experience using the Slate CRM
