Job Summary

The Lead Electronics Technician is responsible for design, fabrication, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and calibration of electrical, electronic, and electromechanical apparatus and equipment, both analog and digital, in various facilities within the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics. The successful candidate will:

  • Advise faculty, staff, and students regarding equipment
  • Consult with and instruct undergraduate and graduate students on research projects
  • Consult with vendors, fabricators, or other employees as needed to understand equipment needs

 

What We're Looking For:
 
Education and Experience: 
Required:

  • Associate’s degree in electronics, electronic technology, or closely related field
  • 5 years of experience designing, fabricating, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, electronic, and electromechanical apparatus and equipment, both analog and digital
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered    

 

Skills:

Required:

  • Working knowledge of electronic, electrical, and electromechanical equipment and apparatus
  • Good communication (oral and written), problem-solving, analytical, math, and customer-service skills
  • Ability to design and fabricate new equipment
  • Must be able to build and maintain good work relationships with a diverse workforce, including faculty, staff, students, and outside vendors
  • Good record keeping skills
