Job Summary

Serve as Equine Surgeon at growing regional hospital specializing in equine care. Diagnose, and provide medical and surgical treatment of, equine patients including athletic performance horses. Consult with specialist faculty (theriogenologists, ophthalmologists, internists, etc.) from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine. Engage in promoting the hospital and growing caseload. Provide indirect oversight of veterinary nurses and other staff. Mentor and train veterinary students, interns and surgical residents serving elective rotations at the hospital. 

 

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (or equivalent) plus 1 year of relevant veterinary experience with performance horse medicine and surgery. Such experience must include the following: (1) advanced diagnostics and/or diagnostic imaging for performance horses; (2) Contributing to, collaborating, supporting or engaging with researchers/research projects to improve performance horse care; (3) Coordination and mentorship of residents, interns, and veterinary students.

 

Candidates must be eligible to be licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Indiana. Candidate should be board certified with the American College of Veterinary Surgeons or other college of Specialty.; however, graduating residents board eligible will be considered equally. All requirements may be satisfied concurrently. Background check required.
