Job Summary
Purdue University is looking for individuals who desire meaningful work that directly impacts Indiana's manufacturing sector. The Purdue Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) is uniquely positioned to pair Purdue's resources with the state's manufacturers to improve their business.
This role serves as the primary third party/external resource program development and program management expert who can recruit, evaluate, on-board and manage third party/external service providers for professional and technical services. Ensure project completion is timely and under budget. Lead the market needs analysis for services. Establish recruitment tools and processes to attract third party providers and consultants. Develop, negotiate, and execute agreements with qualified providers. Establish performance metrics, manage project execution and quality, and evaluate external resources on an annual basis. Define third party resource database parameters. Lead the IT group in development of the external resource database and associated tools.
The role must collaborate with individuals across the University and other outside parties related to third party services. Within the MEP, the role works with manufacturing & technical services managers and leadership team to identify, develop, and add capacity for new and existing client services.
Strict adherence to Purdue confidentiality policies is required. Office location: Carmel, Indiana or West Lafayette, Indiana.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Five or more years of experience
- Experience with project or program management or supplier/resource management or professional or technical recruitment
- Experience with procurement and contract negotiation
- Ability to learn and develop skills to recruit and attain service providers in new areas of expertise or for adding delivery capacity
- Lead marketing and communication to create awareness of external resources within a dispersed, hybrid organization
- Ability to negotiate and work with outside suppliers and consultants to meet organizational goals
- Analysis skills for business performance, areas for improvement, performance metrics, or Measurable Impact
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to take a logical approach to independently resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices
- Proficiency with the following software: Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft Office Excel, Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Microsoft Office Outlook
- Valid US driver's license
