Assistant Registrar

Your day to day:

  • Process and resolve all non-standard registrations: Upward Bound, Graduate grant funded students, late registration, etc.; audit course requests, and general registration requests. 
  • Coordinates with academic and athletic departments, and review weekly reports to ensure accuracy. 
  • Resolve weekly biographic and demographic error reports, process legal name changes, and chosen preferred name changes. 
  • Process and manage Academic Information Change Forms, student records retention, reverse articulations, faculty and staff deactivations. 
  • Supervise and direct the day to day operations of the student workers. 
  • Investigate, resolve, and authorize changes in tuition costs for students appealing residency classification. 
  • Review and approve Division I NCAA athletic eligibility, compliance, and acts as the Registrar liaison to Student Athletic Success committee. 
  • Work with Office of Legal Counsel attorneys and courts concerning subpoenas, requesting confidential student records. 
  • Oversee and register Consortium Agreements. 
  • Initiate all department purchasing, manage electronic inventory, oversee salvage process, and place work order request based on department needs. 
  • Provide back-up for day-to-day operations related but not limited to; records and registration services, including registering students, issuing transcripts, reviewing transcripts for graduation, answering phones, responding to registrar inbox, updating web content, responding to requests, reporting grades, and end of term related tasks. 
  • This position supports other areas within the university in relation to admissions, graduate studies, graduation, registration, advising, athletics, and academic units. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, communication, English, information technology, mathematics or related field.
  • Three years of experience in a registrar's office or related experience.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and customer service skills, organizational and attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations of students, faculty and staff.
  • Experience updating and troubleshooting records in student information systems and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Familiarity with student records retention and academic policies.
  • Good attendance and commitment to work requirements.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in the utmost professional manner.
