Director of Engagement
Join Purdue University Fort Wayne:
We are currently seeking a full-time and onsite Director of Engagement in our Engineering, Technology and Computer Science (ETCS) college.
This position is in charge of developing and executing plans to recruit students to the colleges’ programs, develop an engaged culture, plan activities, promote student clubs, develop an ETCS Students Success Program, develop experiential learning opportunities for the colleges’ students, and coordinate activities and events with strategic partners.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, and communicate recruitment and marketing strategies for prospective students and families.
- Coordinate, plan, and assist with outreach events.
- Collect, maintain, and assess recruitment data for reporting and evaluating effectiveness.
- Develop, manage, recruit for, deliver, and assess the ETCS Students Success Program.
- Collaborate with PFW strategic partners to identify new industry partners, future employers, current industry relationships, and internship opportunities for ETCS students.
- Attend and represent ETCS at various events.
- Develop marketing materials to share with prospective employers.
- Work with ETCS academic departments to promote student participation in extracurricular activities.
- Guide student clubs through event planning and fundraising activities.
- Develop assessment plans to assess student engagement activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, computer science, leadership or a related field.
- At least 4 years’ experience in working in a university, or similar environment, as an academic advisor, career development specialist, or a similar role.
- Experience in budget planning and accounts oversight.
- Experience planning, managing, and delivering educational programs with student engagement, and working with community partners.
- Knowledge of recruitment strategies.
- Knowledge of theory and best practices in professional development of students, community engagement, and interaction with employers and partners.
- Able to make and provide presentations to a variety of groups.
- Ability to effectively communicate with diverse contacts and maintain balance between student and organizational needs.
- Basic skills in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
