Financial Aid Data Processor

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

  • Serve as main data processor and systems/testing contact with the Student Information Systems Business Analyst for Financial Aid
  • Serve as first electronic contact of student ISIRs and assignment/resolution of discrepancies (dataloads/tracking/c flags).
  • Promote diversity and inclusion on campus.
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly and annual fund and award analysis for the academic year and summer and process, analyze and authorize federal and state aid fund transactions (Packaging).
  • Participate in providing technical services solutions in conjunction with SIS Business Analyst.
  • Reconcile award funds and resolve discrepancies (Resolving Overawards).
  • Participate in system upgrade testing.
  • Primary Cognos report writer for Office of Financial Aid.
  • Analysis of department processes and recommend improvements for efficiency.
  • Return of Title IV data entry.
  • Course Program of Study data entry.
  • Primary staff member to resolve office email inquiries.


What are the position essentials required as a Data Processor?

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Two years of experience working in Financial Aid/Systems.
  • Word processing, spreadsheets and database skills.
  • Effective verbal/written communication, interpersonal, customer service, problem solving, ability to work with details, critical thinking and technical skills.
  • Must have the ability to travel to training activities and work occasional evenings and weekends.
