Purdue University in Indianapolis is seeking a dedicated Instructional Support Specialist to join our leadership team in the Department of Mathematics. In this pivotal 12-month position, you will collaborate with faculty, lecturers, and students to ensure the highest standards of mathematics instruction and support. Your role will blend teaching, academic support, and operational leadership—making a direct impact on student achievement and departmental excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with Mathematics faculty and lecturers to enhance instructional quality and innovation
  • Teach mathematics courses, supporting student learning and engagement
  • Provide academic, instructional, and administrative support to ensure smooth departmental operations
  • Serve as a resource for students, offering guidance, tutoring, and mentorship
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of instructional strategies and resources
  • Support departmental initiatives that promote student success and a positive learning environment

What We're Looking For

Education and Experience Needed:

  • Requires a master’s degree in mathematics or in a closely related field
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience 
  • Teaching mathematics courses from elementary mathematics to Calculus III
  • Course coordination/curriculum development


Skills Needed:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Office software and academic software such as Brightspace, myPurdue, MyLab, Gradescope, Excel

  • FLSA: Exempt (Not Eligible for Overtime)
