Job Summary

The Assistant Director, Purdue Testing Services – Indianapolis, serves as the subject-matter expert with limited oversight, and as the operational lead and primary on-site representative for Purdue Testing Services (PTS) at Purdue University in Indianapolis. Reporting to the Director of PTS, this position is responsible for leading and administering daily operations and the delivery of accommodated academic testing services in Indianapolis, while ensuring compliance with ADA, FERPA, academic integrity standards, and university policies.

 

The Assistant Director oversees the administration and coordination of accommodated exams, supervises one full-time staff member and student employees, supports and contributes to the development of operational planning, and serves as the primary point of contact for students, faculty, Disability Resource Center (DRC) staff, and campus partners in Indianapolis. This role is responsible for maintaining exam integrity, resolving complex testing concerns, implementing operational processes, and supporting the continued growth and development of testing services in Indianapolis.

 

In addition to reporting to the Director of Purdue Testing Services, this role is responsive to the Executive Director of Teaching & Learning Programs in Indianapolis and, as a member of the Teaching & Learning Programs in Indianapolis leadership team, works to implement and support the Vice Provost for Teaching & Learning’s (VPTL) strategic mission in Indianapolis. The position requires strong independent decision-making, organizational leadership, relationship management, and the ability to manage multiple operational priorities in a fast-paced environment. Occasional evening and Saturday coverage is required.

 

This position is an on-site position in Indianapolis, IN.

What We’re Looking For:

Education and Experience

Qualified candidates will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, human resources, management, or a related field
  • Six (6) years of professional higher-ed student support experience

 

Skills:

  • Professional writing and editing skills.
  • Excellent computer and communication (verbal & written) skills.
  • Great organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to balance interruptions while also maintaining productivity.
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere and work collaboratively with campus partners and test vendors.

 

Nice to Have:

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience working in accommodated testing or disability services.

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $60,000.00 to $65,000.00. The final salary offer will be determined based on various factors, including internal equity, available budget, and relevant experience.
