Job Summary
The Edwardson School of Industrial Engineering at Purdue University invites applications for a Professor of Engineering Practice at the Associate or Full rank. This position is based at the Purdue Indianapolis location. Purdue University in Indianapolis seeks to attract exceptional candidates with teaching and educational interests and expertise in all areas of Industrial Engineering, including Production and Supply Networks, Operations Research, Manufacturing, and Human Factors. The successful candidate will teach core undergraduate courses across Industrial Engineering and assist with development of strategic initiatives at Purdue University in Indianapolis.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D., or M.S. with more than five years of professional experience, in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Human Factors, Manufacturing, Systems Engineering or a related field by the employment start date. Ideal candidates will have relevant industry experience with demonstrable evidence of leadership. In addition to instructional duties, the successful candidate will work effectively with industry partners and faculty, provide mentoring to students and other program support staff, and perform service both at the School and the University levels as needed. They will have demonstrated skills in innovative pedagogical techniques, project/problem-based learning, and industry applications of current methodologies.
