What You’ll Do:

Oversee the daily operation and safety compliance of assigned campus buildings, ensuring functional, clean, and secure spaces for students, faculty, staff, and guests.

Deliver exceptional customer service as the primary liaison between building occupants and Purdue’s campus service teams—including Facilities Operations, Safety and Security, and Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S).

Facilitate clear communication to quickly address and resolve operational concerns, support special events, and coordinate scheduled maintenance, repairs, and space needs.

Monitor and escalate issues related to safety compliance, building systems, and occupant comfort, taking initiative to propose solutions and preventative measures.

Play a central, visible role in supporting the ongoing academic, student service, and event-related functions crucial to Purdue’s vibrant campus life.

This position is located on the Indianapolis campus.
What We're Looking For
Education and Experience Required:
- A High School Degree or High School Equivalency
- At least two (2) years of experience in building operations, facilities coordination, customer service, or a related field
- Experience working in a university or large institutional setting
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems (e.g., SAP, FM systems)
Skills Needed:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact professionally with diverse building occupants and service teams
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems, and respond quickly to building needs
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills for tracking work orders, inspections, and communications
- Basic understanding of building safety standards, OSHA compliance, and emergency preparedness
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfort using digital tools for reporting and communication
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with cross-functional teams
- Commitment to excellent customer service and continuous improvement of the campus environment
