The Department of Health & Kinesiology at Purdue University invites applications for an academic-year (9-month) clinical faculty (non-tenure track) position (Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor) in Sport Management beginning August 17, 2026. 

 

The successful candidate will teach in the Master of Science in Sport Management (MSSM) program, primarily in Indianapolis, and will collaborate with program and department leadership to further develop and implement the MSSM Program in Indianapolis. The position also includes contributions to program accreditation efforts. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, student-centered team at a leading public institution.

 

Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in Sport Management or a related field (e.g. Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Business Administration, Health and Human Performance) by the time of employment and provide evidence of teaching experience. Graduate teaching experience is preferred.

 

Applicants must have a demonstrated ability to connect professional experience to graduate-level instruction and 5–10+ years of leadership or administrative experience in sport organizations such as:  intercollegiate athletics (athletic director, compliance, student-athlete development, external relations); professional sport teams (event operations, analytics, marketing, ticketing, community relations); governing bodies (NCAA, conference office, national sport organizations);  sport marketing or sponsorship sales, ticketing and revenue strategy, fan engagement/digital engagement, corporate partnerships, NIL operations and athlete branding, sport policy, business intelligence roles, sport analytics, or communications, media, or branding in sport. Applicants should demonstrate an ability to translate professional practice into effective teaching and mentorship.

The Department of Health & Kinesiology is one of nine units in the College of Health & Human Sciences and is home to 23 full-time faculty, 650 undergraduate students, and 80 graduate students. We offer a BS in Kinesiology with concentrations in Sports Medicine, Sport Management, and Clinical Exercise Physiology. Our graduate programs include the MS in Athletic Training, MS in Sport Management, MS in Health and Kinesiology, and PhD in Health and Kinesiology.
