The Executive Assistant provides high-level administrative and operational support for Purdue leaders based at the Sigma Theta Tau (STT) Building in Indianapolis. This position plays a vital role in enabling efficient, coordinated day-to-day operations—supporting multiple senior and executive leaders, including the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Indianapolis. You’ll serve as a central resource in a dynamic environment, fostering seamless communication and connection across leadership teams, staff, and visitors.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver exceptional administrative support for executives, including calendar management, meeting preparation, and document coordination
- Support special projects and handle complex logistics with accuracy and discretion
- Serve as the first point of contact for administrative services within the STT Building, ensuring smooth daily operations
- Coordinate communication and activities between local Purdue teams, the West Lafayette campus, and external partners
- Promote a welcoming, professional environment for all visitors, staff, and collaborators

What We're Looking For
Education and Experience Required:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business Administration, Management, or a related field
- Minimum of six (6) months of experience in a senior or lead administrative support role or equivalent experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered
Skills Required:
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail
- Computer and related software skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.
- Skilled in:
- collaborating and communicating to build relationships with individuals at all levels within and external to the university to support department needs
- interpreting policies and procedures to proactively resolve issues
- Ability to:
- handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
- identify problems, generate ideas for improvement, and implement or recommend solutions
- use discretion and independent judgment to make sound decisions balancing facts, priorities, and possible outcomes
- use discretion regarding when to involve the senior leader or Executive, when to resolve issues independently, or when to engage others
