Job Summary & Responsibilities
The Student Front Desk Assistant will serve as a welcoming and professional first point of contact for visitors, students, faculty, and staff entering the Student Center. This role supplements the full-time Building Support Specialist.
We are planning to hire multiple students to support throughout the day, but hours of highest priority are between 5p-8p. Students should anticipate approximately 10-15 hrs per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Provide general information and directions within the building.
- Monitor and maintain front desk area for cleanliness and organization.
- Assist with scheduling, mail distribution, and other administrative tasks as needed.
- Communicate effectively with staff and faculty to support building operations.
- Uphold building security protocols during open hours (8:00 AM – 8:00 PM).

Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Dependable, flexible, and detail-oriented
- Demonstrated problem-solving and reasoning abilities
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively
- Punctual and well-organized
Preferred Experience:
- Previous customer service or administrative experience
- Familiarity with Purdue systems and campus resources
