Job Summary

The International Tax Administrator is responsible for ensuring Tax Compliance including but not limited to international payees, student FICA tax exemption, and year-end tax reporting.  Act as a tax subject matter expert for employee questions regarding tax withholdings.  Provide consultation on international tax issues including advising international employees on the requirements and documentation needed to ensure that certifications are obtained to support the tax treatment for all salaries, wages and fellowships paid.  Responsible for providing guidance on the nature and limitation of any tax treaty benefit and renewal requirements, if applicable.  Manage the annual treaty renewal.  Some remote work may be available for this position with the expectation of working in-office one or two days per week.

  • BA/BS Degree
  • Three years of experience in finance, tax, accounting, or related 
  • Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of required educated and related experience
  • Registered Tax Preparer or other individual tax certification.(will accept additional three years of financial, tax or accounting experience in lieu of certification - total of six years of experience)
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex tax concepts
  • Knowledge of payroll and employment taxes
  • Skilled in Word, Excel, and Internet
  • Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality restraints
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly and timely communicate, verbally and in writing, with accuracy, professionalism, poise, tact, courtesy, and sensitivity
  • Demonstrated customer service focus and accountability
  • Demonstrated resilience, insightful development, influence, and continuous improvement behaviors in service delivery
  • Demonstrated organizational and technology skills as well as technical credibility in functional area
  • Demonstrated continual learning and self-development attitude toward functional and technological developments
  • Demonstrated self-starter attitude, problem solving ability, analytical skills, openness to change and new ideas, and ability to adapt rapidly

What Is Helpful:

  • FPC or CPP certification
  • Experience in higher education
  • Knowledge of international tax treatment
  • Knowledge of and experience with ECP and Glacier
  • Database and data query skills
