Job Summary


The Student Support Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of University Residences across both Purdue’s West Lafayette and Indianapolis campuses. The specialist will support students by managing housing-related financial issues, such as past-due accounts and students with zero credit hours, and by assisting with the student contract appeals process. Additionally, the role involves auditing physical room modifications against housing records to ensure data accuracy, serving as a facilities liaison, and managing housing contracts across both campuses. This position requires a strong focus on detail, student advocacy, and cross-departmental collaboration to create a positive living and learning environment for all students. This role will also explain practices, policies and procedures to reach agreement. In addition, this position will provide a high level of administrative support and business processes for the Central Assignments Office (University Residences-Administration). Duties include data entry of student records and auditing reports to ensure the accuracy of data within the housing management system.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Works to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant impact on area.    
  • Proficiency in using a housing management system and other relevant software.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from different viewpoints and backgrounds.
  • Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines with strong attention to detail.  
  • Works independently under limited supervision. 

 

What is helpful:

  • Certifications Experience in customer service, or training experience
