About this Opportunity:

 

This position will provide organizational oversight of work functions of the Purdue Veterinary Medicine Student Success Center (SSC).  The position is the main contact for students, faculty, staff, alumni, private veterinary practice staff, and the public concerning interactions with the Director of Student Success in the College of Veterinary Medicine. The successful candidate will supervise a Student Success Center Administrative Assistant and multiple student workers, providing all required supervisor functions.  Additionally, this position will have responsibility for multiple College student-focused events serving as the resource expert and budget administrator for the events, and will have full authority to resolve situations and questions relating to employees and events.

 

What We're Looking For: 

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Four years of administrative experience
  • Ability to manage staff regarding projects and prioritization of tasks
  •  Ability to coordinate events, analyze large volume of data, and to communicate with outside prominent alumni and donors
  • Must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to interact professionally with students, faculty, staff, alumni, corporate sponsors and the public via phone communication, email communication and in-person communication
  • Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions to serve clients
  • In addition, position requires a goal-oriented individual who seeks to be creative and innovative to develop new methods to increase efficiency while ensuring accuracy of work product
     

Preferred: 

  •  Supervisory experience
  • Experience in an educational institution with student interaction
  • Excellent computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office software and Banner are preferred, while experience with Quicken software and web-based applications are suggested
