Job Summary
The Department of Nutrition Science at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana invites applications for a non-tenure track Lecturer position. Successful candidates must exhibit a passion for teaching and mentoring of students and are expected to be highly motivated. Responsibilities of this position will include teaching courses in nutrition and working closely with the Director of our Didactic Program in Nutrition. This individual will report to the Department Head in Nutrition Science.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach 18-24 credits per year, split between fall and spring semesters. Courses may be at the undergraduate and/or graduate level and may include laboratory courses. The individual will contribute to ongoing curriculum development and assist in services to the Department of Nutrition Science as needed.
Education
Master’s degree in areas such as dietetics, food and nutrition, health promotion, or related fields. Registered Dietitian credential and continuing education through CDR (Commission on Dietetic Registration) required. Minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in therapeutic and clinical nutrition counseling and education for individuals and groups or similar experiences, is preferred.

Demonstrated ability to independently manage all aspects of teaching; ability to establish long- and short-term goals; self-motivated, service minded and adept at solving problems; possess effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build and cultivate relationships with a variety of constituents. Preferred: Successful college level teaching experience.
