Job Summary

 

Join Purdue University Libraries and play a vital role in supporting our vibrant academic community! As a Library Assistant, you will:

  • Coordinate schedules for learning and study spaces
  • Provide instruction on using library resources and technology
  • Implement library policies and assist with the development of LibGuides
  • Create engaging library displays and maintain signage
  • Manage inventory and order supplies
  • Participate in committees and councils
  • Maintain library collections and facilities

This position offers a competitive salary range of $15.00- $19.47 per hour, with exact compensation determined based on qualifications and experience.

What We are Looking For :

Education and Experience

Qualified candidates will need:

  • HS Diploma/GED 
  • Three (3) years library or public service experience required.    

 
Skills needed:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a diverse community. 
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. 
  • Enthusiasm for working with students, staff, and faculty. 
  • Willingness to learn about and use digital technologies and software. 
  • Ability to work in a self-motivated way, independently and collaboratively with others. 


What is helpful:
Associate or bachelor’s degree.
