Job Summary
The Department of Chemistry and Physics invites applications for part-time, in-person teaching on the Hammond and Westville Campuses. Potential assignments include algebra-based intro mechanics lecture and lab, algebra-based intro E&M lecture and lab, calculus-based intro mechanics lecture and lab, calculus-based intro E&M lecture and lab.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Obligations of this position may include but are not limited to:
- meeting with students during all scheduled meeting times,
- timely communication with students via email, telephone, videoconference, or in-person meetings (in-person office hours required for lecture instructors),
- for lab instructors continually working with the lecture instructor to ensure alignment between lecture and lab,
- for lecture instructors, preparing course materials in line with stated course learning objectives,
- assessing student work and performance,
- giving feedback to students in a timely manner & maintaining grades in the PNW LMS,
- submitting grades in accordance with the established PNW schedule, and
- maintaining FERPA and Title IX certification
Education
- Master's Degree in Physics or in a closely related field with at least 18 credit hours of graduate physics courses
Experience
- Teaching Experience preferred for lab sections and required for lecture sections.
