What You'll be Doing:
Supervise the operations of a multi-craft campus maintenance zone. Serve as the primary liaison between Residential Housing Administration, Building Services, and zone staff to ensure effective communication and high levels of customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, direction, and administrative supervision to zone personnel
- Train, assign, and evaluate work; monitor performance and ensure quality standards are met
- Counsel employees and administer corrective action as needed
- Conduct performance evaluations and make recommendations regarding hiring, promotions, compensation, and termination
- Organize and prioritize work orders; coordinate activities with other zones, central shops, and specialty teams
- Develop wage, salary, supply, expense, and capital budget recommendations
- Administer work budgets and monitor expenditures to prevent overruns
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs for all buildings within the zone and recommend improvements or new initiatives as appropriate

What We're Looking For:
Education and Experience
Qualified Candidates Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in supervision or technology
- 3+ years of administrative supervisory experience, preferably in a technical or industrial area
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered
- A valid US or Canadian driver's license
Skills Needed:
- Thorough knowledge of mechanical systems and building construction and maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals and service manuals needed.
- Computer literacy with database and word processing knowledge
- Strong organizational skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills with proven strong interpersonal skills when dealing with customers, subordinates and peers
- Conflict resolution skills
What’s Nice to Have:
- Significant experience in facilities maintenance or one of the following areas: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, refrigeration, etc.
