Summer Maintenance Painter – Student Service

 Job Summary

The Student Summer Maintenance Painter will support repair and renovation of surfaces by applying protective finishes to plaster, drywall, wood, metal and other surfaces, under the direction of the Maintenance Zone Leaders and Crew Chiefs. This is a seasonal position lasting from May 11, 2026, through August 14, 2026. The hours for this position are Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and the pay rate is $14.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Perform painting tasks with precision and quality in University Residences.
• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer as needed.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
• Apply paint, stain, or other finishes using brushes and rollers.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.

Qualifications

• No painting experience is necessary
• Able to collaborate with team members on site
• Must be able to follow simple oral and written instructions.

• Ability to work effectively in a physically demanding environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.

 Additional Information

• This role is an on campus in-person position.
• This role is a temporary, seasonal position.
• Occasional overtime may be required.
• Work is indoors/outdoors and not sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
• May be exposed to noxious fumes on occasion.
