Job Summary

The North Central Nursing Clinics (NCNC) at Purdue University is a federally qualified health center (FQHC) providing access to high-quality primary healthcare services for the communities surrounding Burlington, Delphi, Monon, and Wolcott. We are looking for a full-time Quality Informatics Specialist to join our team.

 

Under the supervision of, and in collaboration with, the Director of Quality, the Quality Informatics Specialist is responsible for supporting the implementation and execution of the Quality Improvement (QI) Program for NCNC. 

 

Core functions of this role include project management and compliance activities and serving as the electronic health record (EHR) Coordinator for NCNC. This role is the bridge between providers/clinic staff and their usage/experience with the clinical applications routinely used in the delivery of patient services.  This includes participating in activities such as analyzing clinical performance data, meeting with providers and staff to observe and discuss EHR workflows and process gaps, and then identifying areas for improvement and assisting with the development of strategies to address these issues.  Furthermore, as needed, this role is responsible for collaborating with the Director of Quality and other organizational leadership, medical/clinical staff, and operations staff to foster change and improve patient care.

 

This position is primarily located in Delphi, IN, but it may require occasional travel to the Burlington, Monon, and/or Wolcott clinics as needed.

What We're Looking For:

Required:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Two years of experience in IT, healthcare, or related field.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience working with an electronic health record (HER).
  • A valid US or Canadian driver's license.

 

Skills Needed:

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision, while still adhering to project deadlines and organizational expectations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages when working with diverse groups to explain processes and workflows during training.

 

What Would Be Helpful:

  • Three or more years of experience.
  • Experience with quality and process improvement in an ambulatory healthcare setting, including familiarity with clinic workflows.
  • Experience working with AthenaOne (EHR).
  • Awareness of:
    • Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHA) standards of practice and program requirements.
    • NCQA Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) standards/guidelines.
  • Practical knowledge of ambulatory clinic workflows and application needs.
  • Experience with project tracking and data software applications, such as Monday.com and Azara DRVS.
