Job Summary
The Office of Summer and Winter Sessions is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented student assistant to support Winter Session programs, communications, and outreach efforts. This academic-year position offers potential for summer hours and provides hands-on experience in program coordination, marketing, and student services.
Compensation and Hours
- $11.00/hour
- Academic Year Position with potential summer hours (May - August)
- 10 - 12 hours per week (Monday - Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.)
- Office Location: Young Hall, 6th Floor, West Lafayette
Position Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Assist in coordinating and implementing office-sponsored programs, including staffing events.
- Draft various types of communication, including social media posts, website updates, newsletter articles, and student messages.
- Create social media content, publications, and other promotional materials.
- Help manage and update web content and social media channels.
- Benchmark similar programs at other institutions and identify best practices.
- Respond professionally to student and campus partner inquiries via email, phone, and in-person.
- Serve as a knowledge for students interested in Winter Session opportunities.
Qualifications
- Must be an actively enrolled Purdue undergraduate student.
- Prior experience with programs, projects, social media, or promotional work preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communicaion skills.
- Reliable, flexible, and detail-oriented.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Customer service mindset and positive attiitude.
