Job Summary
The Department of Chemistry and Physics invites applications for part-time, in-person teaching on the Hammond and Westville Campuses. Potential assignments include general chemistry lectures, general chemistry labs, and organic chemistry labs.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Obligations of this position may include but are not limited to:
- meeting with students during all scheduled meeting times,
- timely communication with students via email, telephone, videoconference, or in-person meetings (in-person office hours required for lecture instructors),
- for lab instructors continually working with the lecture instructor to ensure alignment between lecture and lab,
- for lecture instructors, preparing course materials in line with stated course learning objectives,
- assessing student work and performance,
- giving feedback to students in a timely manner & maintaining grades in the PNW LMS,
- submitting grades in accordance with the established PNW schedule, and
- maintaining FERPA and Title IX certification
Education
- Master's Degree in Chemistry or in a closely related field with at least 18 credit hours of graduate chemistry courses
Experience
- Teaching Experience preferred for lab sections and required for lecture sections
