Job Summary

Purdue University Northwest’s College of Nursing is seeking exceptional candidates for the PS Gerard Endowed Professorship position. The PS Gerard Professor will focus on research scholarship, teaching/mentorship of faculty and students and service at a national and international level.

The College offers undergraduate degrees including a traditional BSN, second degree accelerated BSN, and an online RN to BSN. We offer several MSN options including two advanced practice roles (family nurse practitioner and adult-gerontology clinical nurse specialist) and two online advanced practice specialties (nurse educator and nurse executive). Our post-master’s DNP program has a focus in translation science.

Responsibilities

Tenured faculty responsibilities include conducting scholarly work in a field of expertise, grant writing, teaching graduate and undergraduate nursing in classroom and online environments, and participating in university, professional and community service. Rank and salary will be commensurate with background and experience.

 

The PS Gerard Endowed Professor position is a full-time, tenure/tenure track, academic-year position beginning August 12, 2024.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants must hold a research doctorate in nursing and have a record of scholarly achievement which includes a history of obtaining external grants suitable for a tenure/tenure track position and appointment. Candidates should declare an area of research and must demonstrate a national/international reputation in research.

Requirements

  1. PhD in a nursing related field
  2. A record of research in peer-reviewed publications
  3. A research agenda that will secure competitive external funding
  4. Licensed or eligible for Indiana RN licensure
  5. Proficiency in English, written and spoken
