Job Summary

The Phase 2 & 3 Regional Campus Administrator is the primary support for all clinical students rotating in the Lafayette area. Provides coordination of scheduling and logistical activities related to regional campus Phase 2 and Phase 3 clinical clerkships and rotations offered as part of the IUSM-West Lafayette curriculum. This includes, but is not limited to, working directly with local regional clerkship site leaders, Statewide clerkship directors and Statewide clerkship management teams; other contributing clinical faculty; community physicians; hospitals and medical practices; and collaborating with other Regional Phase 2 & 3 clerkship administrators. 

 

The position is responsible for implementation and administration of clinical experiences of medical students, including scheduling all local IUSM-WL clinical students, scheduling and housing visiting IUSM students from other campuses, and coordinating schedules with hospitals and medical practices in Lafayette and surrounding communities under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Education. This role also serves as backup support for the front desk, greeting visitors, assisting with parking validations, and helping with other front desk duties when the Phase 1 Coordinator is away. Reports to the Campus Dean.

What We’re Looking For:                                

Education and Experience
Qualified candidates will need:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or health-related field  
  • 2 years of experience coordinating program or project activities with multiple stakeholders, including faculty, physicians, and administrators, to meet operational goals
  • An equivalent combination of required education and work experience will be considered 
    • For example, an associate’s degree and 4-5 years of experience or a High School Diploma/GED and 6-7 years of experience.

 

Skills needed:

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.  
  • Successful candidates should have the ability to conduct professional communication with staff, nurses, physicians, and other medical personnel via multiple communication channels. 
  • Ability to read critically to evaluate inter-institutional contracts/policies and make appropriate recommendations to superiors for changes or approval
  • Demonstrate effective use of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
