Department of Philosophy Three-Year Postdoctoral Research Associate in Medieval Philosophy

Purdue University’s Department of Philosophy is seeking a medieval philosopher for a three-year postdoctoral research associate position (August 1, 2025–July 31, 2027). AOS: Medieval philosophy; AOC: Open.
Principle Duties: Purdue is a member of the American Association of Universities, and seeks a philosopher of exceptional promise who will contribute to the excellence of our department and college. Teaching load is 2-3 courses/year, undergraduate and graduate. The position includes a salary of $52,000 and an annual research allowance of $1,500.
Qualifications: To be eligible for consideration, applicants must have received a PhD in philosophy between September 1, 2020 and June 20, 2025.
The College: The College of Liberal Arts at Purdue University is embarking upon searches for a number of faculty and postdoctoral positions to begin in Fall 2025. Applications must include: (i) brief cover letter, (ii) curriculum vitae (including dissertation abstract and research statement), (iii) copies of official graduate transcripts, (iv) names, email addresses, and institutional affiliations of at least three references, (v) evidence of teaching effectiveness, and (vi) a writing sample of approximately 8-10K words. Letters of reference should not be included in the initial application but should be prepared for quick submission if requested.
