Department of Philosophy Postdoctoral Research Associate in Philosophy of AI

Purdue University’s Department of Philosophy is seeking hire a postdoctoral research associate (renewable) in the areas of philosophy of science, or the philosophical topics in artificial intelligence, or the philosophical topics in mathematics. AOS: Philosophy of Science, and/or Philosophy of AI, and/or Philosophy of Mathematics; AOC: Open.
Principle Duties: Purdue is a member of the American Association of Universities, and seeks a scholar of exceptional promise who will contribute to the excellence of our department and college. The postdoctoral research associate will be responsible for conducting original research in and contributing to ongoing projects on philosophical topics in artificial intelligence, mathematics, or autonomous science (in potential collaboration with colleagues at National Laboratories), presenting work to relevant audiences, and participating in grant writing. The position includes a salary of $52,000 and an annual research allowance of $1,500.
Qualifications: To be eligible for consideration, applicants must have received a Ph.D. in philosophy or a related field relevant to the research (computer science, mathematics) between September 1, 2020 and June 30, 2025.
