Job Summary

The Program Coordinator for Undergraduate Research and Career Readiness in the John Martinson Honors College will support the college’s mission to sustain and expand student engagement and excellence in undergraduate research experiences. Undergraduate research is a key pillar of the JMHC’s curricular and co-curricular life. The person in this role will be responsible for organizing events in West Lafayette and Indianapolis locations of the JMHC, that spread awareness of research opportunities, organize research-development and professional skills for JMHC students, maximize student participation through recruitment into faculty-led research experiences, and contribute to the success and celebration of students’ research endeavors. This position will work closely with the Associate Dean for Research, the Director of Undergraduate Research, and collaborate with faculty engaged in undergraduate research with JMHC students. In doing so, the person in this role will support the implementation of the JMHC’s strategic vision for research programs and play a critical role in establishing the JMHC as a preeminent and highly ranked institution in the honors educational landscape.

What We’re Looking For:

Education and Experience
Qualified candidates will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • One (1) year of related work experience                                                                                          

 

Skills:

  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) for drafting, editing, and disseminating correspondence and reports.  
  • Ability to create and execute workflow systems for various aspects of academic planning and programming.  
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, planning, and time management skills with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.  
  • Ability to exercise professional judgement to solve problems independently and the ability to maintain confidentiality.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Suite.  
  • Proficiency in Qualtrics design and management.  
  • Ability to learn new systems and to work independently with guidance from a supervisor in a team-oriented environment.  
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact in a professional capacity with faculty, staff, and students.

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $50,000-$55,000. The final salary offer will be determined based on a variety of factors, including internal equity, available budget, and relevant experience.
