Purdue University seeks a seasoned Applicaiton Architect to be a contributor under limited supervision, the primary resonsibilities of the Application Architect include.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design enterprise application and automated integration solutions 
  • Identify improvement opportunities and propose recommendations 
  • Advise in development, implementation, and support of new and existing software systems 
  • Develop policies, procedures, principles, and training programs to ensure solutions adhere to business requirements and best practices 
  • Collaborate with leaders across the system to understand and support strategic goals  
  • Provide consulting and subject matter expertise  
  • Promote automation, optimization, resiliency, and security 

 

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Knowledge of industry best practices for enterprise architecture and standards for SAP 
  • Solid understanding of security standards, data architecture, and systems integration 
  • Experience in developing application architectural blueprints and roadmaps that ensure alignment with business strategies 
  • Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies 
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies, e.g. Docker, Kubernetes 
  • Experience with cloud-based architectures (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and SaaS solutions

What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience Needed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in application architecture, development, or administration
    Required: 
    • Proven experience in system integration and performance optimization 
    • Knowledge of industry best practices and standards 
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills 
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment 
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered such as demonstrated extensive experience in SAP architecture and implementation or additional industry experience

 

Preferred: 

  • Master’s degree 
  • Relevant certifications 
  • Strong knowledge of SAP modules (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, SAP Fiori, SAP BW) 
  • SAP certification in relevant modules 
  • Experience with cloud-based SAP solutions

  • Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF)
  • Subject matter expertise in Oracle and Microsoft SQL
  • Understanding of FISMA, FedRamp, ATOs
  • Excellent:
    • written and verbal communication skills
    • planning and organizational skills
