Job Summary
IT Security Analyst | Purdue IT | Remote
The IT Security Analyst as a professional contributor with the Security Operations Center team will be responsible for monitoring dashboards, alerts and watchlists for indications of security incidents. As an active member of the incident response team, the Security Analyst will investigate detections, perform host and network based forensic analysis to identify adversary behaviors and develop additional detections and mitigations. The Security Analyst will utilize security tools such as an IPS, network firewalls and monitoring tools to implement security controls and block adversary activity. Using lessons learned from security incidents, with individual research and experience, this position will develop and implement additional security monitoring alerts.
What We're Looking For
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in cybersecurity, computer science, computer technology, information security, engineering, business, or related fields preferred
- Two (2) years of IT security, IT security operations, incident response, or related experience
- In lieu of degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required experience (associate’s degree + 4 years of experience; HS/HSE + 6 years of experience)
Preferred:
- IT security-related certifications (e.g. CISSP, SANS/GIAC).
- Experience in a complex and diverse enterprise technology environment

- Operational understanding of a security framework; such as, Intelligence Driven Defense, Cyber Kill Chain, Diamond Model, and/or MITRE ATT&CK

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $71,760 to 76,245 annually commensurate with the candidate’s education and experience. The final salary offer will be determined based on a variety of factors, including equity, available budget, educational background, and relevant experience.
