Innovation Science Lead
Job Summary
The Innovation Science Lead is responsible for driving university-wide application of Innovation Science principles to enhance center-scale research efforts and bolster the probability and significance of related societal impacts. The Innovation Science Lead will serve as a key liaison between Purdue University’s Institute for Innovation Science and the broader community of Purdue researchers and external partners, ensuring tailored application of proven Innovation Science methods and tools where applicable, identifying related fundamental research questions that warrant exploration, and forming relationships to advance Innovation Science and Purdue’s distinctiveness in this discipline. It is anticipated in this role that the Innovation Science Lead will interact heavily with internal Purdue research groups, external academic partners, industrial entities, and non-profit and governmental organizations to scale application of Innovation Science concepts on- and off-campus.
In conjunction with the Associate Vice President for Strategic Interdisciplinary Research, the Innovation Science Lead will identify leading research teams that would most benefit from Innovation Science and work closely with them to shape strategies to achieve transformative and impactful translation of their efforts, particularly in the proposal development stage. Finally, the Innovation Science Lead will engage deeply with in-house Innovation Science researchers to ensure that cutting-edge Innovation Science practices are broadly communicated, well-understood, and rapidly deployed across the Purdue community. Collectively, this work will necessarily cut across disciplines and involve substantial collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
This position can be 100% remote.
