Job Summary

The Salesforce Administrator is a key member of the PanPurdue Salesforce Delivery Team responsible for the configuration, governance, and operational integrity of Purdue’s enterprise Salesforce environment. This role leads advanced declarative configuration, ensures adherence to platform standards, and provides functional leadership and coaching to the Salesforce Administrator on the team. Partnering closely with the Delivery Manager, Business Analyst, and other PanPurdue team members, the Salesforce Administrator translates approved business requirements into scalable Salesforce solutions. This role emphasizes data integrity, security model design, release readiness, and long-term maintainability of the platform.

This position plays a critical role in sustaining a secure, scalable, and well-governed enterprise Salesforce ecosystem serving multiple colleges, administrative units, and strategic initiatives across the University. About Us

Purdue Information Technology is the central information technology organization serving students, faculty and staff at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Purdue Fort Wayne and Purdue Northwest. Purdue IT is responsible for major operational systems, the campus wired network and one of the world’s largest wireless networks. It also supports dozens of student computing labs as well as tens of thousands of desktop computers in classrooms, research laboratories and offices, and numerous petabytes of storage for business, educational and personal use across the Purdue University system.

What We're Looking For

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or
• equivalent professional experience
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience administering Salesforce in a complex, multi-team environment, including advanced declarative configuration and security model management
  • Experience configuring and maintaining Salesforce features including automation (Flows), object configuration, field management, reporting, dashboards, and platform governance controls
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and ability to quickly integrate into a Scrum team
  • Experience configuring and maintaining Salesforce security models, including roles, profiles, permission sets, permission set groups, organization-wide defaults (OWD), and sharing rules
  • Experience collaborating within an Agile or structured delivery environment

Required Certifications

• Salesforce Certified Administrator

Preferred:

• Experience providing functional leadership, mentoring, or reviewing work of other Salesforce Administrators

Preferred Certifications

• At least one Salesforce Cloud certification (e.g., Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, or Education Cloud)

Skills Required:

• Advanced proficiency in Salesforce declarative configuration and automation
• permission sets, permission set groups, and sharing rules
• Experience supporting third-party Salesforce tools and integrations
• Strong:
  • understanding of Salesforce security architecture including roles, profiles,
  • organizational skills and attention to detail
  • written and verbal communication skills appropriate for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Demonstrated ability to:
  • work independently and provide functional leadership within a collaborative team structure
  • troubleshoot difficult technical issues.
• Ability to:
  • evaluate configuration approaches for scalability and long-term maintainability
  • troubleshoot complex platform issues and support production environments
  • provide support for applications after hours and on weekends as needed
