Senior Financial Analyst

Job Summary

Purdue University is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Financial Planning and Analysis team.  This role will be responsible to design and prepare financial analyses and modeling related to academic or business strategic initiatives, proposals, and other ad hoc data requests. Assemble, analyze, summarize, and forecast financial, economic, and other data. Oversee and report on unique funding plans for programmatic initiatives. Determine strategies for managing resources to capitalize on funding opportunities, advance priority initiatives, and identify operational efficiencies. Present findings and analyses in formats appropriate for senior and executive management. Participate on project teams and committees to bring financial and data analysis leadership and perspective to the team. May mentor other staff to increase their skills.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • Five years’ experience in financial analysis or other relevant experience
  • Advanced proficiency in business applications, especially spreadsheets
  • Advanced knowledge of financial, data management, and reporting systems
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Advanced professional interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare materials for and clearly and effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences and executive management
  • Strong project management skills and ability to contribute to or lead part of a multi-functional team
