Job Summary

Position Summary:
The Purdue Veterinary Medicine Development Office is seeking a motivated and professional student intern to support fundraising and alumni engagement efforts. 
Key Responsibilities:
Front Desk & Office Support
•    Serve as the first point of contact for the Development Office by covering the front desk during scheduled hours
•    Greet and welcome guests, alumni, and donors to the office and direct them appropriately
•    Answer phones and assist with basic inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
Communications & Campaign Support
•    Assist with organizing and assembling creative campaign mailings and donor letters
•    Maintain accurate records for development correspondence and communications
•    Participate in brainstorming sessions for alumni and donor engagement strategies
Alumni Engagement & Mapping
•    Conduct research to update alumni contact information and career paths
•    Assist in mapping alumni connections and affiliations using online tools 
•    Provide support for events, newsletters, and reports
Event & Stewardship Assistance
•    Help prepare for donor and alumni events, including assembling materials, name tags, and signage
•    Assist with event set-up, guest check-in, and other day-of support as needed
•    Contribute to stewardship efforts such as thank-you card writing, donor recognition projects, and compiling gift acknowledgments

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Strong interpersonal skills and a warm, welcoming demeanor
•    Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management abilities
•    Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
•    Interest in communications, marketing, or nonprofit development is a plus
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Canva 
Requirements:
•    Must be a current Purdue University student in good academic standing
•    Availability to work 10–15 hours per week during business hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
•    Willingness to maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards
