Lab Manager
Job Summary
Oversees the daily operations of the lab. Managing projects and interacting with internal and external clients. Supports and sustains the student lab experience primarily in ET-Engineering Technologies at Purdue’s Statewide Technology location at Richmond. Set up labs, test operation of equipment and secure lab activities related to the course material. Maintain, repair and calibrate all lab equipment. Provide routine preventive maintenance and determine appropriate equipment repair/calibration schedules. Build and prototype specific devises for the instructional labs. Generate and maintain appropriate documentation and schematics. Maintain inventory and purchase necessary lab equipment and supplies. Maintain physical inventory of the location’s capital equipment. Occasional travel to other locations (10%).
***This position is part-time .5 FTE***
Required:
- BA/BS Degree in Technology, Engineering or related field
- Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related work experience and education.
- Drivers license
- Two years of related business/industry work
Preferred:
- Experience in an academic setting
