The Opportunity: Senior Data Analyst, Teeth
The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for projects focusing on baby teeth, working under the direct supervision of principal investigator Dr. Erin Dunn, also known as the Science Tooth Fairy. He/she/they will work with multiple types of data, including longitudinal survey data, brain and tooth imaging, and ‘omic data (e.g., genomic; epigenomic) collected from participants in both smaller-sized epidemiological studies and large birth cohort studies that have followed participants for decades. He/she/they will be responsible for designing and implementing analyses for multiple projects. The successful candidate will also work closely alongside Dunn Lab team members, especially post-doctoral research fellows, in a mentorship capacity to help them drive forward their analyses and interpret their results in the context of the scientific literature. 

This position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced data analyst wanting to switch gears into a new field and apply cutting edge statistical methods to a new biomarker (teeth). It is also an excellent opportunity for a bold leader wanting to tackle new data challenges that come from working at the forefront of science, and join a high-functioning group to carry out collaborative, team science. 
This position is based at the Indianapolis location. Remote options, with frequent travel to campus, may be available.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Oversee all data cleaning, curation, and management, including in RedCAP or similar databases
• Develop and implement statistical analyses for all projects, in consultation with the team’s biostatisticians.  
• Lead the write-up of results, focusing on clear, transparent, and meaningful ways of presenting the study findings
• Assist post-doctoral research fellows to interpret study results, in the context of the current literature
• Conduct code reviews to ensure the accurate and reliable conduct of data analysis in the Lab
• Work with the Lab’s Program Director to submit data access requests to obtain data from our international collaborators
• Maintain standard operating procedures for data management.
• Collaborate with Lab members on the preparation of grant applications, manuscripts, and presentations.

What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience: 
Required:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 4 years of data analysis experience.
• Strong knowledge of R and other data analysis pipelines. 
• Advanced knowledge of statistical and epidemiological study design.
• Proven ability to learn new computational tools and packages.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Understanding of data management and data analysis workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to interpret acceptability of data.
• High degree of computer literacy.
• Careful attention to detail.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to identify problems and develop solutions.

Preferred:

• MA/MS.
