What You'll be Doing:

Manage the Industrial Plumbing and Heating/Cooling operations for the Operations and Maintenance Department. Supervise industrial plumbers and HVAC mechanics in the maintenance, remodeling, and construction of university facilities. Oversee work budgets, approve project expenditures, and provide recommendations for wage and salary budgets, supplies, and capital equipment. Ensure compliance with state, local, federal, and university regulations governing the handling and disposal of refrigeration and other gases. Collaborate with staff and faculty to assess plumbing, heating, and cooling needs, coordinate maintenance and repair work, and schedule projects effectively.

What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience
Qualified Candidates Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Building Construction, Supervision, Management or a related technical area
  • 3+ years of administrative supervisory experience, preferably in a technical, commercial, or industrial area
  • An equivalent combination of education and required work experience will be considered

 

Skills Needed:

  • Experience in workflow planning, employee coaching and motivation, budget and financial planning and analytical evaluation skills
  • Applicable experience relative to the position in facilities maintenance or one of the following areas: electronics and telecommunication maintenance and maintenance/inspection
