$11.00 per hour                        Weekly average, approximately 15+ hours per week

 

Required hours may include days, evenings, weekends, overnight hours and holidays. - This position will start in the Spring semester of 2026.

Job Description 

The Student Office Coordinator will ensure University Residences Support Center is staffed during all operating hours, maintain communication with all Student Associates and ensure proper functionality of the University Residences Support Center throughout each semester.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent & minimum of one semester of coursework successfully completed
  • Must be actively enrolled at Purdue University
  • Previous work experience in University Residences preferred
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills, verbal and written
  • Flexible and dependable with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task & work within deadlines
  • Ability to work independently & with a team
  • Be timely & organized
  • Previous supervisory/leadership experience preferred

Job Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities

  • Prepare, post & maintain student associate office schedules as directed by Assistant Director of Residential Services
  • Assist with training of new office staff
  • Work scheduled shifts at the URSC des
  • Fulfill on-call responsibilities to be available to open or close the office due to Student Associate call-offs
  • Coach & counsel student employees as needed
  • Enforce all established office procedures
  • Complete & submit maintenance requests and/or IT requests online as needed
  • Must attend all scheduled staff meetings to gain and/or share pertinent information
  • Maintain confidentiality & exhibit professional conduct when handling sensitive information
  • Respond to emergencies according to established procedures
  • Report violations of University and/or University Residences policy
  • Exercise accountability for the proper handling & security of all issued keys, door access, as well as center property
  • Communicate with Assistant Director of Residential Services about center operations
  • Enforce center rules and regulations
  • Ensure center is properly equipped with necessary materials and equipment for students to study
  • Attend weekly meeting with ADRS
  • Cover open shifts as needed, class schedule permitting
  • Maintain the email account associated with the center
  • Maintain recurring reservations for the Shreve URSC
  • Manage the necessary documents for the Shreve URSC operations
  • Participate in the interview process for Student Associates
  • SOC is required to prepare for center operations two to three weeks before the beginning of the semester
  • Other duties as assigned
