About Our Opportunity:

The Purdue Veterinary Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic credentialed veterinary technician to join our Surgery Floor Team! The surgery floor veterinary nurses are the main source of communication between clients and surgeons and will assist with incoming appointments (both new cases and rechecks) as well as with client call-backs, follow-ups, and client education. This team works closely with all sections in the small animal hospital to organize in-house patient consults, patient diagnostics and care, and anesthesia monitoring for diagnostic CT, wound care, bandage changes, and sedated radiographs. This team participates in anesthesia on-call responsibilities for after-hours emergencies and may circulate OR cases as needed. Regular hours are M-F 8-hour shifts.


The veterinary nurses in the hospital have the opportunity to continually learn new skills and techniques. This knowledge leads to teaching those skills to veterinary and veterinary nursing students. We're looking for someone with great organizational skills and a desire to work closely with both our medical teams and our clients.

What We're Looking For:

Required:

  • AAS in Veterinary Technology from AVMA accredited Veterinary Technology Program
  • Must become RVT in Indiana within 12 months of hire.
  • Ability to listen to and follow both verbal and written directions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to read and write in English.

 
Preferred:

  • Experience in a veterinary hospital.
