You will have the opportunity to demonstrate and assist in basic medical procedures, share your knowledge on the fundamentals of physiology and disease processes, and help monitor hospital inventory and supplies. This position may require assignments to other areas of the hospital, holiday rotation, and possible participation in on-call coverage. What We’re Looking For:                                
Education and Experience
Qualified candidates will need:

 

  • AAS in Veterinary Technology from an AVMA accredited Veterinary Technology Program
  • Two years in a University Veterinary Teaching Hospital or Veterinary Specialty Hospital as a credentialed veterinary technician
  • Must become RVT in Indiana within 12 months of hire
  • May consider 10 years in a veterinary General Practice

 

Skills Needed:

  • Able to listen to and follow both verbal and written directions
  • Must possess good oral and written communication skills with the ability to read and write in English
  • Must possess knowledge level enough to explain and demonstrate routine veterinary medical concepts and procedures to aid in the instruction of veterinary students and veterinary technology students
  • Must complete Purdue Veterinary Technician Basic Skills List prior to promotion to Senior Veterinary Technician
